Inducted into the W.K.U.H.O.F. for 1996 –
Master Tooby started doing boxing in 1978 and continued with that until 1980. From 1980 to 1988 he was training with Tong Kune Do Kung Fu, attaining his 3rd level red sash in that time. During that time he was also actively training with Tae Kwon Do, and graded and received his black belt. From 1989 to 1993 Master Tooby was involved with Australian Freestyle Kung Fu, reaching the level of 7th level red sash. 1990 to 1993 saw him training in kickboxing. Finally, in 1993 Master Tooby was to become the founder and chief instructor of Toodokan Self Defence Academy, his present title and training academy.
Master Tooby experience in Martial Arts includes:
1989-1993 | Australian Freestyle Kung Fu 1st Senior Instructor. Established first dojo in Penrith NSW. Established second dojo in Campbelltown NSW Promoted awareness of Kung Fu through assisting in the promotion of three other dojos |
1993-1996 | Toodokan Self Defence Academy Founder and Chief Instructor Established the system of Toodokan training and grading syllabus Increased student base from 5 to 350 |
Established a full time training centre open 7 days Opened a second training centre in Camden NSW Implemented a standard instructor training course. He also has been a co-promoter at the Australian Open Martial Arts Championships, where he increased public awareness of our Martial Arts talent through successfully holding the inaugural Australian Open.

Master Tooby has a busy martial arts training and teaching career but still finds time for his interests of reading and gardening.
