Louie Dimou was born and raised in Port Pirie, South Australia, a 2.5-hour journey from Adelaide. His family migrated from Greece to Australia in search of a better life and settled among the many Greek immigrants who chose Port Pirie as their new home. Raised with Greek Orthodox traditions, it was customary for him to help others in need and share kindness with those less fortunate. His family was an integral part of the contributing members within the Greek Church and the social soccer organization. He embraces his heritage, culture, and the traditions he was raised with, continuing to pay homage to his family traditions within his own family network.

He is a devoted husband to his wife Antoinette, and father to Theofanis and Marco. As a committed family man, he works tirelessly to provide nothing but the very best for his family.

Employed as part of the Pharmacy assistant team for the Port Pirie Regional Hospital, his ongoing commitment to his work role has led to employment for more than 38 years. Having worked across multiple positions within the hospital, he has found working within the hospital system rewarding. He has encountered many people of different heritages and backgrounds, and he remains humble for all the things he has in his life today. His gratitude is counted on the many blessings he has encountered, starting with his family and the experiences they gave him.

Currently, he is working as a front-of-house manager for the Northern Festival Centre for live shows and movies. His role within the community has also seen him employed as a crowd controller as part of the hospitality industry, with many community and private events at local nightclub venues. With years of experience in the art of Taekwondo, he is well-respected amongst the community and importantly reflects the manner in which he must conduct himself in compromising situations.

His aspirations for the art and sport of Taekwon-Do were inspired at a young age when watching a martial arts movie with his uncle Spiro, one of the original students of Rhee Taekwondo in Port Pirie in the early 1970s. From these humble beginnings, his commitment and dedication to the sport have seen him start the next generation of Taekwon-Do in Port Pirie and across the Mid North of South Australia.

He is the founder of Port Pirie Full Impact ITF Taekwon-Do, established in August 2018, and his love and passion for the art and sport of ITF Taekwon-Do continue to this day.
