Every story has a beginning. Master Diana’s started in her county of birth, where she grew up in the capital – Bogota. Master Diana is the fourth of 4 children, raised by a single, hard-working mother, who taught her the importance of discipline and commitment in achieving her dreams.
As an athlete Master Diana learnt how hard it was to achieve her goals. This is a constant in her life and helps her to interpret the principles of Taekwondo including courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.
Master Diana completed a bachelor’s degree in physical education with the intention of understanding human development, behaviour and how they learn. Additionally, Master Diana trained in Gymnastics, Swimming, Mixed Martial Arts (Kick Boxing, Kung Fu, Filipino Martial Arts and Capoeira) as well as Taekwondo WT.
After being an athlete and teacher, a new passion started: being a judge and Referee of Tatami and Ring Sports with the intention of educating people of the beauty and fairness in those disciplines. Finally Master Diana became an international Referee of WAKO (Wako Association of Kickboxing Organizations).
Today, Master Diana still teaches martial arts her life is a testament to the effect of an early life with economic, social and political limitations. Martial arts has opened her mind and her heart, and she passionately believes in self-knowledge, in having a purpose and enduring whatever it takes to fulfill it.
Master Diana Latorre is the Founder and Director of Latorre Sports Australia and through her organisation she will continue to make her contribution to building people with social thinking and appreciative of the beauty in martial arts.
