Lifetime Achievement – Tai Chi – Chi Gong
George began his martial arts studies in 1969 doing Shaolin Kung Fu Five Elder style under Sifu Chiang.
He has studied Wado Ryu and Shotokan karate and Moo Do Tae Kwon Do. In 1975 he travelled to Asia and studied at several martial arts schools including Silat, Kempo and other short weapon styles. He later on studied Iaido, Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu, kenjutsu and Escrima.
In 1980 George started the Kung Fu school at Elizabeth Recreation Centre in Adelaide and became involved as a competition judge with the Australia Martial Arts Association.
He started studying Tai chi/Qigong with several teachers and long time practitioners in 1985 and in 1989 opened Tai chi/Qigong schools in Adelaide.
He has practised with Dr F Chui a closed door student of Grand Master Huang Shyan Shen of Malaysia who created the Huang Style Tai Chi.
For the past 53 years he has dedicated his life to teaching and sharing his skills and knowledge with students and the community.
At present he teaches Escrima at Sensei Davis Rigby’s Academy and daily Tai Chi classes at several community centres, retirement villages and nursing homes.
In addition he teaches private groups and clients in the armed forces, law and security business.
George enjoys giving motivational talks on philosophy and attitude of life.
