Shih Fu Glen Keith has both learnt and taught Shaolin Fut Gar Kune Kung-Fu (Buddhist Fist Style) for the last 26 years yet still has much to learn. His Sifu at 80 years is the oldest and highest ranking master in this system in the world, yet wishes to remain unknown. Glen respects this and has always taught by his Kung-Fu doctrines and philosophies.
Glen does not have any documentation to acknowledge his last 26 years of training under Sifu Wing Koi Young as the system is taught on traditional grounds and does not have official grades. He has been bestowed his Sifu’s ‘Teacher’s Sash’ and will be bestowed his ‘Master’s Sash’ upon the eve of his Sifu’s death. This is they way of traditional gung fu.
Glen was chosen by the New Zealand Chinese martial arts community in 1990 to represent New Zealand at the Inaugural meeting of the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) in Beijing, China. Since this time he has gone on to become the Vice President of the International Wushu Federation, President of the New Zealand Kung-Fu Wushu Federation (NZKWF) and President of the Oceania Wushu Federation (OWUF).
Glen has practised Shaolin Fut Gar Kune Kung-Fu since 1979 and Traditional Yang Taijiquan since 1995. He has Held many official positions at National and International levels and continues with many of these duties.
Achievements:
1990 Represented New Zealand at the Inaugural Meeting of the International Wushu Federation in Beijing China to affiliate New Zealand as a Founding Member. Attended the 11th Asia Games which showcased modern Wushu
1990 Co-founded the Wellington Region Chinese Martial Arts Association Incorporated
1993 Directed New Zealand’s Wushu Team attendance at the 2nd World Wushu Championships in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
1995 Attended the 3rd World Wushu Championships and Congress in Baltimore USA as an Official Observer for New Zealand
1995 Co-founded the New Zealand Chinese Martial Arts-International Wushu Council Incorporated
1996 Tournament Director for New Zealand’s 1st International Wushu Federation rules. Sanshou (full contact fighting) tournament in Wellington
1997 Directed New Zealand’s attendance at the 4th World Wushu Championships in Roma Italy
1998 Co-founded the Oceania Wushu Federation
1999 Attended the 5th World Wushu Championships and Congress in Hong Kong and was Team Manager for the New Zealand Wushu Team
1999 Elected as an IWUF Executive Committee member at the Congress of the 5th World Wushu Championships in Hong Kong China
2000 Attended International Wushu Federation Executive Committee Meeting in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
2000 Tournament Director for New Zealand’s 1st National Traditional and Contemporary Wushu Tournament in Wellingto
2001 Tournament Director for New Zealand’s 2nd National Traditional and Contemporary Wushu Tournament in Wellington
2001 Attended the 6th World Wushu Championships, IWUF Congress and Executive Committee Meeting in Yerevan Armenia

2002 Initiated and directed the restructuring of the New Zealand Chinese Martial Arts-International Wushu Council Inc (NZCMA-IWC) into the New Zealand Kung-Fu Wushu Federation lnc (NZKWF)
